The Bar Method Highland Park is a fitness studio that offers barre classes with experienced instructors. The classes are designed to be safe and effective.
We are located in Port Clinton Square in Downtown Highland Park. Our studio has full locker room facilities including showers and towel service for your convenience. Port Clinton Square offers free indoor parking with direct access to our building on the lower level. We offer a wide variety of classes each week to ensure that there is always a class available to suit your schedule.
Sarah took her first Bar Method class in 2001 and loved it immediately. She has been teaching Bar Method since 2008 and has been professionally training and dancing since she was a child, so she is able to provide an inspiring teaching style.
The students who come to Sarah's class have different intentions. Some people come to be healthy and fit, while others come because it makes them feel good, boosts their confidence, provides them with a social outlet, or because the studio is a sanctuary for them. Sarah is highly motivated to help others feel good about themselves and achieve their personal fitness goals.
Club Bar members can put their memberships on hold for up to 60 days, twice per year. A fee of $25 is required each time you freeze your membership.

Sarah at the Highland Park Bar Method location is a seasoned instructor with more than a decade of Bar Method teaching experience and a lifetime of dance proficiency. Being a male, it was challenging to step into a class predominately filled with women where I felt inexperienced and awkward. The burning sensation created by a three-pound weight when performing the activity with proper form was impressive. Each of the exercises develops flexibility, isometric strength, and conditioning that provide a significant advantage for a cross training athlete or as a primary workout. Additionally, persevering through the isometric holds helps to develop a mental fortitude that will leave you feeling wonderful post workout. After decades of training other sports, it feels incredible to reap the benefits of Bar Method by correcting the imbalances generated from sport specific training. I was amazed at how sore I was in the smaller muscle groups such as my calves, triceps, and abdominal muscles and pleasantly surprised to see improvements in my physique after only a short period of time with the Bar Method exercises.
